Katy Leopard, MA I/O Psy

Project Coordinator

Katy has dedicated the last decade to advancing women’s health in the Mid-South region. She works with a variety of clinical healthcare and human services clients with a focus on promoting infant and maternal health. Through that support she provides strategic guidance and organizational development consultation with the goal of building long term service sustainability.

Prior to working as an independent consultant, she worked for the Memphis Center for Reproductive Health. Beginning in 2011, Katy transformed the 40-year-old single-service women’s health clinic into a visible, valuable community health asset now known as CHOICES. Over her more than 10 years at CHOICES, Katy engaged with the executive team to expand services, grow patient revenue, and grow grant revenue.

Katy’s time at CHOICES culminated in her work to design and build a fundraising/development program for the organization, which completed in 2019 a $6.2MM capital campaign and built a new center that is now a new national model for reproductive healthcare. This new center includes the community’s first freestanding birth center. CHOICES birth center is staffed with black midwives who work with other grassroots community organizations to serve birthing people in Shelby County, Tennessee, and beyond.

Her career at CHOICES was preceded by her change management consulting career for Andersen Consulting, LLC, now ACCENTURE, she spent the first decade of her career working at companies like Delta Airlines, Boeing, Tenneco Energy, International Paper, and FedEx. Katy worked with these clients to implement large-scale business change projects including customer service improvement, billing and revenue management, inventory management, and organization capacity-building projects.

Katy holds a master’s degree in organizational and industrial psychology and dual bachelor’s degrees in both psychology and business.
